Our Founder, Imali, came up with the idea of this hoodie during her biologic infusions, when she found herself and those around her regularly sitting awkwardly with one arm in their jumper and one out for IV access. Her discomfort inspired her search for a solution that would be not only practical, but comfortable. 

In addition, as someone with very poor venous access, she saw first-hand the added challenge of needing to stay warm to keep her veins in the best condition for treatment, but found very limited options to achieve this. 

Then was born the IV access hoodie - you can finally sit comfortably AND stay warm while giving your team the access to your arms that they need.

Designed to last, it can be washed over and over again (we recommend machine washing at no hotter than 30 degrees) and it won't turn scratchy - guaranteed!

Visual Description of the garment:
The hoodie is a medium grey all over, with darker grey dangling pulls near the hood. It has a zipper to the front, as well as one in each of arms between the armpit and sleeve to allow for IV access. The sleeves have a supersoft cuff by the wrists in a thicker cable texture. Each of the zips has a small easy-grip extender attached, to make grabbing them easy for those with low dexterity. To the left breast, is The Chronic Club logo, embroidered in white, with the words 'Run by spoonies, for spoonies. Est 2023' around it.

Reliable, warm and comfortable

Best hoodie for having IVs and treatments! Kept me so warm in hospital and so comfortable! The hidden zips are great for being discreet when wearing daily! Made life so much easier when nurses or doctors needed quick access and especially when I couldn’t keep bending my arm because of the pain one cannula caused me! For someone with autism who has severe sensory needs the soft quality of this hoodie and the deep pockets made me feel so comfortable especially with the big hood that can fit over headphones! I honestly couldn’t recommend this more for keeping warm in hospital or for treatments or even just being warm and comfortable for daily use!

Honestly, such a good idea!

After seeing this idea attempted poorly at other leading stores, I was struggling to find a solution for my biologic treatment to keep my arms warm that wasn’t cheap and poorly made. I purchased several alternatives from Amazon and high-street stores but they always washed poorly or the zips ended up getting stuck - not with The Chronic Club! I am so impressed at the quality of these hoodies and although they do carry a higher price tag I think they’re totally worth it. They wash beautifully.
